Work harder on yourself than on anything else.
What I wish someone would have told me is: Confidence in anything comes from not neglecting the small things and the daily disciplines. People can build you up and compliment you but as cliche as it sounds your opinion of yourself is the only thing that matters. If you have no confidence, no expectations in what you are presenting or in what you expecting, let’s just say, the world will pay any price you ask of it.
How would you describe your design style?
Eliminate the noise, eliminate the clutter and get down to what is important.
What is the most useful piece of design advice that you have received?
Be self aware of your talents, of your skills, of you as a designer and of you as a person. If you understand yourself and you understand other people, that becomes a powerful tool.
Other than design, what creative fields interest you most?
Design can be broadened to any field. Specifically, since we are moving into a time where technology is in our everyday interactions, my interests range from bio-tech to sustainable energy.
If you could learn any new skill or talent, what would it be?
Taking bigger risks, we’ll see how it goes.
Theranos is a blood test and biotech start up that I have been interested in since June 2015. Recently the company has gone under major scrutiny for inaccurate test results and faulty equipment exposed by the FDA and Wall Street journal. This motion design is meant to highlight the Theranos scandal in a brief thirty second video while attempting to use colour and shape along with one of the most common typefaces, helvetica, (which is the typeface for the Theranos logo) to evoke the message.
